I became aware of my need for a Savior at age 11 (1959), quickly accepted the forgiveness Jesus offered. I was convinced He wanted me to be a first grade teacher, so I earned my Bachelor degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Library Science from Eastern Kentucky University in 1970, at which time I married Fred, my sweetheart of 6 years, upon his return from Vietnam and we will soon be celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary. We have two sons and one daughter, all married, and eight grandchildren.
I have also earned a Master of Education in Counseling and Guidance from Lincoln Memorial University (1987) and a Master of Science in Library Science from UK (1995). I have served the Lord as a Sunday school teacher, children’s church leader, piano player/teacher, choir/ensemble member, sewing instructor, and wife of the worship leader, youth minister and pastor (not all at one time). I also served at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College as Director of Library Services for 23 years, Associate Professor (Computers, Research and Counseling) and training of interns. I have participated in several mission trips: Mississippi, Haiti, London, Russia, Macedonia and Bosnia. At New Heights I lead the Spiritual Maturity Class, coordinate the nursery activities and scheduling with Alice Elkins and lead a small group of women in Bible Study.
